Planning for Successful Foot Surgery

At Dr. Jill's Foot Pads, we know that when treating a podiatric disorder or deformity, Podiatrists will try every non-invasive means possible before recommending surgery. Sometimes, however, surgery is the best option. If your foot doctor has recommended a surgical procedure, here are some tips for planning and recovery.

Before Surgery

  • Follow all pre-op instructions from your surgeon
  • Arrange for transportation and help at home for the first few days
  • Stock up on supplies you'll need during recovery
  • Prepare meals in advance and freeze them
  • Set up a comfortable recovery area on the main floor of your home

After Surgery

Follow your surgeon's post-operative instructions carefully. Keep the foot elevated to reduce swelling. Use ice as directed. Take medications as prescribed. Attend all follow-up appointments. Our Cast or Bandage Protector can help you shower safely while keeping your surgical site dry.
